With the stage being set and the dice rolled out, Spandana as a

group and an organization is all ready and kicking to end the year
with some pretty and interesting good news. The year 2009 was
happening and at the same time increasingly challenging as
expected. It threw open many a new window of opportunity and
learning for Spandana, and we are proud to say that we have as a
group capitalized on many of them if not all. There were a few
hick ups en tour; nevertheless we have bore them with guts and
the right spirit. Today’s microfinance market is, “Volatile, risky
and one that has a lot of bottom-line potential, but for the smart
and system driven investor.” Having mentioned this it is but quite
obvious that, Spandana in all its functional and operational stages
has tried to be smart and system driven and off late the results
have started showing. Three months is definitely a very short span
in an organization’s functioning, yet there has been a lot that we
witnessed in the past three months. This newsletter is an insight to
Spandana’s endeavor to trying to create opportunities at the rural
level, capacity building, and increase in household income and
change of lifestyle of the poorest of the poor women at the grass
root level. Notwithstanding the impending problems that may
come across in our operational activities, we have been
incessantly trying our best to keep up our tempo in achieving our
targets. And the past quarter has been no different. Here is an
overview of what Spandana has achieved, and done in the last
quarter. Hope the write up provides a bird’s eye view of the
activities of our initiatives.
