Visual Supports for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Visual Supports include materials displaying sequences, expectations, and outcomes


that may help individuals with autism be more successful in school and at home.

The seminar will include a “make-it and take-it” session with materials
provided to make visual supports targeting . . .
-Communication and social interaction
improve organization or communication of wants, needs, or experiences
-Transitions and multi-step routines
arrange, prepare for, and follow short- or long-term routines
-Task or activity completion
show the steps needed to complete specific activities
-Appropriate behavior
increase clarity of expectations and outcomes for appropriate behaviors
