TASK 2:

a) (2 min) As you read the text below quickly, say whether the following statement is true
(T) or false (F): The text is about an old woman.

My name is Yao and I’m a boy. I am 13 years old and I go to school in Abidjan, in Côte
d’Ivoire. My school’s name is Sainte Marie. It is a secondary school. I am in Form 2. My sister
Akissi is 11 years old. She goes to a Primary School and she is now in CM2. At the end of the
year, she’s going to take her CEPE exam. In Côte d’Ivoire, school is compulsory for children
up to the age of 16. So I must stay at school for three more years until I am 16.

b) Then listen to your teacher and answer the questions he is going to put.

c) (6 min) Finally, name a friend. With your partner, ask and answer questions like this:

TASK 4: (5 min) Peter’s Ghanaian friend wanted to know more about school here compared to
Côte d’Ivoire’s. This is the letter he sent him. But the rain torn the letter and some parts are
missing. Use the words in the box below to complete it. #1 is done as an example:
