Soalan tugasan adalah dari buku teks “Basic Business Statistics: Concepts and
Applications, 11th Edition, Mark L. Berenson, David M. Levine, Timothy C.
Krehbiel”

Anda dikehendaki menjawab soalan-soalan berikut:-

1. Explain the followings:-

a) Sample and population

Sample : A portion or part of the population of interest
Population : Collection of all possible individuals, objects or
measurement of interest
b) Descriptive and inferential statistics
Descriptive : Focuses on collecting, summarizing, presenting
and analyzing a set of data. Example: graft,
chart, percentage etc.
Inferential : A decision, estimate, prediction or generalization
about a population based on sample.
c) Discrete and continuous variable
Discrete : Numerical value that arise from a counting
process.
Continuous variable : Produce numerical responses that
arise from a measuring process.
 d) Four levels of measurement scales
(1) Nominal : Data that is classified into categories and
cannot be arranged in any
practiced / mutually
exclusive/exhaustive like eye color,
gender etc
(2) Ordinal : Classified data into distinct categories in
which ranking is implied/involve data
arranged in some order, but the
differences between data value cannot be
determined or are meaningless
(3) Internal :
