Ryerson University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering ELE302: ELECTRIC NETWORKS. Course Outline September, 2006 Course Description: A brief review of circuit variables, elements, laws and theorems; mutual inductance and ideal transformer; operational amplifier in circuits used as an active clement; solutions of differential equations; Laplace transform with applications to differential equations and electric circuits; frequency response, Bode plots and resonant circuits; Fourier series; balanced 3-phase circuits; two-port networks and circuit parameters of interconnected two- port networks; use of Papice simulation software to solve electric circuit problems. Pre-requisite: ELE202 Course hours: Lecture: 4hrs/wk, Lab: 3hrs/wk Co-requisite: MTH312 (Differential Equation and Vector Calculus) Course Evaluation: Lab/Tutorial 25 % Lab performance: 8% Tutorial/Quizzes: 5% Pspice Assignment: 4% Lab Project 8 Theory 75 % Mid-Term Test: 25 % Final Exam: 50% * Students must achieve passing marks in both Theory and Lab/Tutorial components separately in order (o receive a passing grade. * Alltests and examinations will be clased book.
