TAKF-OFF : 1tJ15 CLEAR CLEAR CLEAR ISESAKI RADAR FLIMSY

497th Bombardment Group

14 August 1945

1, The mission is a primary radar mission.

2. Method of bombing individually. No visual corrections will be made until after clutch in apd only if the AP is positively identified. A direct synchronous run will be made on the APJ the center of city, utilizing computer drum charts for necessary S.R.

3. After radar wind run on LF proceed to IP (36 r:fJ - 140 19). Approaching IP make a procedure turn with a S.R. of 4.1 miles using BRC for measurement.

4. From the IP to the KOOA lakes it will take 7 minutes 6 seconds.

From Koga lake to the 700 clutchin point it will take 3~ mirtutes.

5. As an additional check the BRO can be set up to 12.6. With this setting the BRC should pass thru the Koga lakes and the A.P.

6. The most important factor oil this .run is to keep up your DR in conjunctioh with radar pilotage.

7. At all times maintain a full e-ope picture, low gain, and brilliance up a little to light up your low gain settings for maximum defin~ ition - on - a - minimum - bombing range.

S. Altitude switch will be in cal-zero (no delay).

9. With 0142 making run, navigator will take pietures at LF, at least every 5 miles from RIP to target, at 70 degrees clutch-in, at bombs away, 15 sec after bombs away and at landsend.

10. Know your target - study target strips enroute.

11. A ArnST: VC and HC centered and set calibrated and checked just prior to LF.
