ASSIGNMENT 2 TRANSISTOR BAISING CIRCUITS DESIGN

1. Design the following biasing circuits for a Common Emitter Amplifier using the design
criteria given.
(a) Emitter Stabilized Bias,
(b) Voltage Divider Bias and
(c) Collector Feedback Bias.

2. Verify your results using Pspice.

This is a group assignment. Each group comprised of 3 members.

Due date: 16 September 2009

REPORT

1. Front page should have at least the following:

Subject name & code
Assignment Title
Group Members & metric number
Date

2. Contents:

(a) Theory on Transistor Biasing Circuits (what, function, compare the three biasing circuits)
(b) Designing Biasing Circuits
For each biasing circuit:
Schematic diagram of circuit, labeled appropriately
A neat copy of all hand calculations (show all steps)

(c) Pspice Simulation

For each biasing circuit:
Simulate the circuit using the component values calculated in Part 2(b). Show all currents
and voltages

(d) Compare hand calculated values with Pspice values

Tabulate these values and state the percentage difference.
