Area: Position sensors

T-slot cylinder sensor for hazardous areas

Essen, 01 June 2010 - ifm electronic has added the electronic

T-slot cylinder sensor MK502A to its product range. In addition to
the cylinder sensors for industrial applications, the MK502A covers
hazardous areas.

Developed especially for hazardous areas, the Namur cylinder sensor

complies with the highest category 1G/1D (zone 0/20). It can be used in
the chemical and pharmaceutical industry as well as in silo applications,
elevators or mills.

The 6 m long connection cable can be cut to length and thus allows
flexible construction. Moreover, the connection can easily be led through
the hazardous area due to the cable length.

Like all cylinder sensors from ifm electronic the MK502 offers the known
and tried-and-tested advantages: it can be inserted into the T-slot from
the top and is thus easily and conveniently installed. A screw fixes the
sensor and, at the same time, serves as strain relief.

Using the optional adapters the T-slot cylinder can be fixed to all common
cylinder types. According to the principle "all from one source" ifm
electronic offers the corresponding switching amplifiers for the ATEX
sensors.
