WESTERN CULTURE AND INDIAN VALUES

Few countries in the world have such an ancient, diverse and

rich culture as Indians. Modern India presents a picture of
unity in diversity to which history provides no parallel. India
is the birthplace of many religions such as
Hinduism,Jainism,Buddhism.

As per the famous author mark twain “India is the cradle of

human race, birthplace of human speech, mother of history,
grandmother of legends and the great-grandmother of
traditions.

Indian culture, which is one of the richest and oldest cultures in

the world but now it, is going to vanish due to the impact of
the western culture. the impact of western culture can be
easily felt by the food , attire and the way of living of the
citizens

Joint family system one of the biggest assets of India is

vanishing under the shades of the western culture.
Individualization has broken up the joint family system
paving the way for the youth to fall the prey of drug
addiction. Our young girls feel proud by wearing western
dresses those micro minis skirts. Increasing number of
pubs are also the contribution of the western culture

Cultural legacy that we are showing to the world is now

becoming the part of the history in the metros.

But as we know that there is head and tail of the coin, there are
some positive points of the western culture. Also it has
increased our communication skills. Western culture is
more open, people are very frank and truthful also so I just
want to conclude that we should adopt western culture to
some extent but should not forget our roots ,respect the
Indian values
