to be o.f. the stated age of 35. The ~"eight is 175 pounds an,d the height is 7,0-1/2 inches. The body is cold. :r:t h s not; been embalmec:l. Rigo!: mortis is already passed., The hair is bro\'o'Il and is quite long. The eyes ar,e blue. The pupils are round and equ.al and meas~e .. 4 em.: in diameter. The sclerae are white and show no evid,ellce o,f icterus. The mouth and nose are oozing til-ood. The ea:l'S are unremarkable,. The fa,ce is well-shav,ed. The teeth are in 9000 condition. The neck, chest and abd.omen are normally shaped and symmetric. There is no evidence of old scars. Trauma· will be described separately. The external genitalia show no.gross unusual features. The upper and lo""er extremities are unremarkable except for the fresh .evidence of tra.wna. The antecubital fossae show no evidenoe of venipunctures.. The back. ·shows no unusual features other than the fresh trauma.

SCALP l'lOUNDS:

The· scalp ShO\'o'5 3:3 d.eep lacerations with irreqular borders whi.ch seem.t:.o be caused with consid.erable force. The borders are not sharply' cut but are quite irregular and. tra.umatic.

The .general shape of the wounds seem to be semicirc~lar.

This semicircle 90es from 1/2 incnto 1-1/2 inches in length and these·lacerations are apread over the top of the head from just above the eyebrows to the beginning of the occipital area. The lar·g,est onesa.re on the very top of the head ..

'l'he face shows three very small abrasions of!:he skin on the bridge 'of the no.se, one located between the eyebrows. These

are sm.all super.ficia.l a.brasions and ea.ch measures only 1/4

inch in diameter. The skin at the left side of the left eye shows an extensive area of ecchymOSis with a sma1.l abras·ion 'Of the skin. The top e.cchymos.is measures 1-1/2 .inches in the largest dimens.ion. The area at the left side of the left angle 'Of t.he mouth ,S.hOIio'S an. abrasion of the skin that measures 1-1/2 inches in .length by .3/8 inch in width. This abrasion is also superfici.a1. Underneath the left part 'O.f the chin there is another small abrasion that measures 3/8 inch. Behind the eft ea.rthere is another. abrasion that measures 1/2 inch and 2 inches below it is another ve.ry similar abrasion. The right pa:t"t of the neck shows a small scratch that measures 1 inch in length by 1/4 inch .1n width. Below this, 1 inch under the right clavicle, .is another small abrasion that measures 1/2 inch by 3/B inch. The left neck shows a 1/2 inch abrasion l'Ocated at the end 'Of the ,clavicle.

Stab wound U is located 14 inches from the top of the head and 2.inches to the .rlgbt of the mid.lin.e. This stab wound measures 1/2 inch and shows one sharp medial edge, one dull lateral 'edge. The ":epth df ·this stab wound is 3/4 inch.

Stab wound _il2 is located 14-1/2 inches from th.e top of the

he d and at 3 inches to the right of the midline. The depth of th.is wound is 3/4 inch and it measures also 3/4 inch by size. It shows tt\'O dif~erent edges. Sharp edge points toward the ,center line of t.he body and dull edg'e pOints outward. The deepest penetration of this wound goes into the posterior aspect of the right lung.

Stab wound il3 is located on the back 18 inches from the top

of the head and 1 inch to the left side of the midline of the back, This wound measures 3-1/2 incbes in depth and it measures 3/4 inch in enqthand shows one sharp upper edge and one d.ul1 lower edge. i'he deepest portion o.fthis wound penetrates one inch. into the posterior portion ·ofthe left lung.

Stab wound U 1s located 15 inches from the top of the head and 5-1/2 inches to the right of the midline. TJ:iis ,",ound measures 3-1/2 incbes in depth and measures 1 inch in length. It shows two different edges, one sharp lower edge and a dull upper ed.qe, the deepest pen.etration of this wound. goes into the: posterior aspect of the ;-ight lung.

Stab wound iSis located on th.e right upper bu.ttock., 32 inChes from the top of the head and 5 inches to the right of the midline. This wound measures 3-1/2 inches in depth and it measures 3/4 inch in length. It shows also two diff·erent edges, one .stiarp lower edge and one dull upper edge. This wound penetrates as deep as the leH kidney.

The deepest penetration of tn"s wound goes as deep as the left lung.

The ,,,ound measures 1 inch in length and shows one sharp medial edgG and one dull lateral edge. The wound measures 3 inches in depth and the direction is anterior to post.erior. with. an upward an,qle.. The deepest cenetratioll of thil't wound croes as deeD as the left luna.

1 inch in length and is 3 inches in depth with a sharp mediall border pointing inward and a. dull lateral border. The dil:ection of this ",round.' is anteroposterior .,.:rith a. minimal upward angle .and it penetrates into the left lung.

Stab wound 16 is located 23 inches from the top of the head and.

The ent.rance, wound is l'ocated in the l'eft pos,teri.o.r axillary line 15 inche,s from th op of the head and 8-1/2 inches to

the left of midl1n. The wound measures 1/4 inch in diamet,er and shows an abra.sion" ring that measures 3/8 inch in diam.et.er. The skin" shows no evidence of pO'W'der marks. The direction of the wound is from left to right in a horizontal plane·in a transversal direction. The bullet is a small lead bullet which has good striations in the baok;.howev r, th nos is somewhat defo.rmed. I~ is found impacted. "against the Sth dorsal vert·ebra. in the post. riol:: process. Thi .. is not considered to be a. fatal wound ..

The body' isope:ned by a y-sha.ped .inoision. The subcutan.eous tissues and musc.lesare normally developed., "l'he peritoneal cavity contains a very small amount of blood. 'The left pleural cavity contains about 1'000 co. of blood. The right pleural c~vity contains about 500 cc. of blood.

HEART:

Thepericardlum shows a. minim amount of hemo,rrhage. Th

The cardiac chllmbera ar,e nonnally dev'eloped and the valves are smooth and. pliable and the valvular rings are not calcifi,eci.

The DO:Gamen $val~" and ductus arteriosus are closed. T·he aorta and main. vessels arQ patent and show minL"IIal evid~n(;:e of arteriosclerosis and they show normal distribution.

The bronchial tree contains foamy secreti.onwith some blood .. The v!lsc:ulaztre'e is unremarkable. The left lung shows f,our ,stab wounds in. the ,Ilnterior Ilspec't. 'They corre.spondJ to stab wounds "1, #2. '4 and ~5. The 1arges,t one g,oes as .deep as 3-1/2 inches from the skin to the cle,epest point int-hl!! lung'.

The cut sections demonstrate no unusual evidence 'of lobular:l.ty or fibrosis. There is- no. evidence of .fa.tty.ohal:lg-e either., The bi.le ducts are patent.. The ga11-

·biad.der contains about 5 cc. of poorly concentrated. bile. There a~e' no stones. 'T'he common duct is patent.

SPLEEN:

The spleen weighs 120'grams and shows a small stab wound en the upper pole .and the pazench:yma shews no gross. unusual features •

. PANCREAS ANIl ADRENALS:

Th~ pancreas and the·adrenale are unremarkable.

KIDNEY"S.:

Each kidney weighs 150 grams. The left kidney shows a per.foration

. on, the· posterior side.' ~h.is perferation corresponds to Stab wound i5 from the back ,. Othe:rwis" the kidneys: show no 'gross unusual features. The capsules strip easily and show smooth sur.faces.

The, cut sec,tions show normal cortex ana medulla. The pyramids, . calyces,. pelves: !ir,e 1:l_Drema.rk,able. The, ur,eters aE patent. Tn urinary bladder contains about 100 cc , of .1lll)rlMl clear urine ,.

NECK ORGANS;

The pharynx, larynx,'thyroid,thymus and trache.a are grossly unremarkable .,

skull shows no evidence of fracture. The meninges are somewhat c:onse&tad, however., there. is no evidence of hemorrhage. The

brain weighs 121 Q gr.aIIIs. The ·hemispheres are symmetri.cal.
