RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the attached Resolution deferring the subject Use Permit to the
September 14, 2010 meeting.
DISCUSSION: The applicant has requested that the Use Permit be deferred to the September
14, 2010 meeting in order to have additional time to discuss the project with the J. M. Langston
Civic Association. The following motion is provided should the Board decide to defer the Use
Permit.
Motion: I move that the Board defer Use Permit V-10430-10-UP-1 to the September 14,
2010 meeting.

WHEREAS, the Board of Zoning Appeals (“BZA”) has held a duly advertised public hearing on
August 11, 2010 on case number V-10430-10-UP-1 for a Special Exception Use Permit to permit
aleft side yard of 3.2 ft instead of 8 ft as required by Section 32, Subsection D.2.b of the
Arlington County Zoning Ordinance to construct a 1-story rear addition at the property located at
2235 North Dinwiddie Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the BZA hereby defers Special Exception
Use Permit case number V-10430-10-UP-1 to the September 14, 2010 meeting.5
