RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the attached Resolution deferring the subject Use Permit to the
‘September 14, 2010 Board of Zoning Appeals meeting.
DISCUSSION: The applicants have requested a deferral of the subject Use Permit to the
September 14" meeting in order to have additional time to look at alternative designs. The
following motion is provided should the Board wish to defer the Use Permit.
MOTION: I move that the Board of Zoning Appeals adopt the attached Resolution deferring
Use Permit V-10417-10-UP-1 to the September 14, 2010 meeting.

WHEREAS, the Board of Zoning Appeals (“BZA”) has held a duly advertised public hearing on
August 11, 2010 on case number V-10417-10-UP-1 for a Special Exception Use Permit to permit
aa setback of 23 ft from the N Danville St right of way instead of 25 ft as required, a right side
yard of 0.8 ft instead of 13 ft as required and an aggregate side yard of 8.9 ft instead of 21 ft as
required by Section 32, Subsections D.1.e and D.2.b of the Arlington County Zoning Ordinance
to construct a front garage addition at the property located at 2377 North Danville Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the BZA hereby defers Special Exception Use
Permit case number V-10417-10-UP-1 to the September 14, 2010 Board of Zoning Appeals
