Purpose: To assist with identification of ARV medications during patient interviews

Methods of Identification:
Markings: Imprints or images placed on an ARV. The “/” means the markings
appear on two separate sides. The “()” means an image of this appears on
the pill.
Color: Can be from the tablet, tablet coating, or capsule covering
Tablets vs Capsule:
Tablets are medicine in solid form
 May be coated with a thin film
 May be hatched (a line so the tablet can be broken easily)
Capsules are medications inside a plastic covering
Shape: Example shapes are provided
Dimensions: A millimeter ruler and ARV dimensions are provided
