Kenyan Fish

Researchers in Kenya have found that a fish could be an effective weapon in

the fight to reduce the spread of malaria. A fish that is normally eaten was
introduced to several places in the west of the country. The fish eats
mosquito larvae, which are young mosquitoes before they have wings.

People have known for a long time that this fish eats mosquitoes, but this
was the first time that researchers had looked at how the fish could be used
to control malaria, which makes 300 million people ill and causes a million
deaths worldwide every year.
