The old order passes everywhere and new things appear in its place. Otherwise, our vaunted civilization
would soon be a thing of the past. So, the old Mitchem’s community has changed its name and its
standards. No longer in passing to you see “Mitchem’s” on the schoolhouse well, for it is Fairview now.
When school opens, that sign will hang in the old one’s place. For some time now, our Sunday School
hhas been called Fairview, and as our school and Sunday School are one and the same in their object ~ “of
the people, for the people, and by the people” of the community, we wish their names to be the same,
also.
One other thing to remember, please; no longer do you buy in passing at Mitchem’s store, itis,
Carmichael’s now.
