EXPLORERS STARTED THE GAME WITH A RECORD OF
TWO-THREE-AND-ONE. BOTH OF THEIR WINS CAME VIA
SHUTOUT… COULD THE EXPLORERS CONTINUE THEIR
SHUT OUT WAYS? FRESHMAN AUSTIN JOHNSON NETTED
HIS FIRST CAREER GOAL IN THE 35TH MINUTE TO BREAK
THE SCORELESS TIE. THE MIDS AND THE EXPLORERS
TOOK THE ONE-NOTHING SCORE INTO THE HALF. IN THE
FSCG 5 SECOND HALF… THE EXPLORERS CAME OUT FIRING
ADDING THREE MORE GOALS FROM-RYAN RICHTER…
GLENROY CHAPMAN… AND AUSTIN JOHNSON. THE
EXPLORERS GOT A LITTLE HELP FROM GOALKEEPER
KYLE QUIGLEY WHO STOPPED ALL SHOTS THROWN AT

HIM. FINAL SCORE-EXPLORERS FOUR-NAVY-NOTHING.

CAM 1 IN THEIR FOLLOWING GAME THE MENS SOCCER TEAM
CG 6 LOOKED TO GIVE THE MARYLAND BALTIMORE COUNTY
RETRIVERS THEIR FIRST LOSS. THE RETRIVERS SCORED
TWO GOALS IN A SEVEN MINUTE PERIOD IN THE FIRST
HALF. THE EXPLORES AND RETRIVERS COMPETED IN
THE SECOND HALF ALITTLE BIT TOO AGGRESSIVE AS
THEY RECEIVED A TOTAL OF THREE YELLOW CARDS.
TOWARDS THE END OF THE GAME… THE RETRIVERS
SCORED THEIR FINAL GOAL. THE EXPLORERS FAILED IN
ATTEMPT TO COMEBACK AND THE RETRIVERS
REMAINED UNBEATABLE AS THEY PREVAILED. FINAL
SCORE EXPLORERS-ZERO…RETRIEVERS-THREE.

----KEVIN:
CAM 3 THE EXPLORERS LOOKED TO GET BACK ON THE
CG 7 WINNING SIDE OF THING AS THEY TRAVELED TO TAKE
ON THE BLUE HENS OF DELAWARE. THE BLUE HENS
DOMINATED THE FIRST HALF AND GOT ON THE
SCOREBOARD JUST UNDER FOUR MINUTES INTO THE
GAME. THE BLUE HENS NETTED ANOTHER GOAL JUST
SHY OF THE 16-MINUTE MARK OF THE FIRST HALF. THE
EXPLORERS GAVE UP A WHOPPING 10 SHOTS IN THAT
HALF. BUT THE EXPLORERS CAME OUT FIRING IN THE
SECOND HALF AND WITH A STRONG DEFENSE. THE
EXPLORERS DID NOT ALLOW A SINGLE SHOT ON GOAL
BY THE BLUE HENS IN THE SECOND HALF, AS THEY
TALLIED ON FIVE. SADLY NONE OF THEM WENT IN. FINAL
SCORE EXPLORERS ZERO- BLUE HENS –TWO.

CAM 1 HEADING OVER TO THE WOMEN’S SIDE… THE WOMENS
CG 8 SOCCER TEAM FACED THE THREE…FOUR…AND TWO
BILLIKENS OF SAINT LOUIS ON FRIDAY. MELISSA
SANGER WAS THE STAR FOR LASALLE AS SHE SAVED
ALL TEN SHOTS SHE FACED. SHE CURRENTLY RANKS
EIGHTH IN THE NATION FOR SAVE PERCENTAGE…AND
THE GAME PROVED JUST HOW DOMINATE SHE IS AS
LASALLE’S GOALKEEPER. THAT SHUTOUT GIVES HER
TEN IN HER CAREER. GREAT JOB MELISSA. THE
FSCG 9 EXPLOERES TOOK FIVE SHOTS BUT NONE WERE ON

LASALLE…TOOK THREE SHOTS BUT WAS UNABLE TO
BREAK THE TIE. FINAL SCORE EXPLORERS-ZERO-
BILLIKINS-ZERO.

CAM 3 THE RICHMOND SPIDERS WERE IN PHILADELPHIA TO
CG 10 TAKE ON THE WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM LAST SUNDAY.
THE GAME PROVED TO BE A FIGHT UNTIL THE FINISH AS
RICHMOND HELD ONTO A ONE GOAL LEAD TO DEFEAT
LASALLE. RICHMOND’S TWO GOAL LEAD WAS SLICED IN
HALF BY SOPHOMORE ERIN BRENNAN AS SHE SCORED
IN THE SEVENTY-FIRST MINUTE. HOWEVER…
RICHMOND’S GOALKEEPER MELISSA PECH-EC-O SAVED
FOUR SHOTS NEAR THE END OF THE GAME WHICH
PROPELED THE SPIDERS TO VICTORY. NATALIE LECLAIR
FSCG 11 HAD BOTH GOALS FOR RICHMOND AS THEY DEFEATED
THE EXPLORERS BY A SCORE OF TWO TO ONE. LASALLE
WILL BE BACK IN ACTION WHEN THEY HOST XAVIER AND
DAYTON THIS WEEKEND AT MCCARTHY STADIUM.

FOR 43RD WITH A PLUS 17… SOPHOMORE TYLER BATORY

FSCG 13 FINISHED 73RD WITH A PLUS 39. NAVY TOOK THE
OVERALL TEAM TITLE WHILE COLIN SAINT MAXINS FROM

GEORGE WASHINGTON. SOPHOMORE STEPHANIE
MILOVIC POSTED A TEAM HIGH THREE-33 ATTACK
PERCENTAGE WHILE CONTRIBUTING A DIG AND SIX
KILLS. THREE OTHER EXPLORERS NOTCHED FIVE KILLS
INCLUDING SENIOR RACHEL STEMPER AND FRESHMAN
LAUREN NOGA. FRESHMAN BREANNA MAZALEWSKI TIED
A MATCH HIGH 16-DIGS. AND JUNIOR CARLY CONLON
PACED THE EXPLORERS WITH 14 ASSISTS. BUT… THE
FSCG 16 EXPLORERS COULD NOT HOLD OFF THE COLONIALS AS
THEY WERE SWEPT IN COMPETITION. FINAL SCORE

IN THEIR NEXT MATCH… THE VOLLEYBALL TEAM
CAM 3 HOSTED ANOTHER A-10 RIVAL IN CHARLOTTE. RACHEL
CG 17 STEMPER LED THE TEAM WITH 11 DIGS WHILE ALSO
TALLYING FIVE KILLS. STEPHANIE MILOVIC
CONTRIBUTED FROM ALL ANGLES AS SHE ADDED FIVE

NOT THE LAST ONE BUT SHE DID HAVE ALL THE REST.
SOPHOMORE KOURTNEY CLARK PACED THE
FSCG 18 EXPLORERS WITH 13 ASSISTS…BUT THE EXPLORERS
FELL SHORT YET AGAIN GETTING SWEPT…YET AGAIN.
FINAL SCORE EXPLORERS-ZERO 49ERS-THREE.

MOVING FROM ONE COURT TO ANOTHER… WOMEN’S
CAM 3 TENNIS. THE RAMS OF PHILADELPHIA UNIVERSITY
CG 19 PLAYED HOST TO THE WOMEN’S TENNIS TEAM ON
SATURDAY AFTERNOON. THE RAMS DEFEATED THE
EXPLORERS IN THE FIRST FIVE SINGLES MATCHES…
WHICH GAVE THEM THE OVERALL WIN BY A SCORE OF
SEVEN TO TWO. JUNIOR TAYLOR SILVERIO WAS
VICTORIOUS AT THE NUMBER SIX SPOT WHICH GIVES
HER A ONE AND ONE RECORD IN SINGLES MATCHES
THIS YEAR. CHRISTINA GOMEZ AND BRIGELLE HUDOCK

COMBINED TO WIN THEIR SECOND DOUBLES MATCH OF
THE SEASON. THE LOSS NOW DROPS LASALLE TO TWO
AND THREE ON THE SEASON. LASALLE WILL TRY TO
AVENGE THE LOSS AS THEY HOST WAGNER ON
OCTOBER 2ND.

----KERRI:
THE MENS TENNIS TEAM FELL SHORT AGAINST
CAM 1 NEIGHBORING RIVAL PHILADELPHIA UNIVERISTY WITH A
CG 20 FINAL SCORE OF FOUR TO THREE. THE RAMS
DOMINATED THREE OUT OF FOUR SINGLES MATCHES…
BUT THANKS TO TREVOR DONOVAN AND ROBERT
KNASTER… THE EXPLORERS WERE ABLE TO END ALL
OF THE MATCHES IN A THREE TO THREE TIE. GEIRGE
GENNAOUI AS WELL AS JON MAULA CONQUERED THE
ONLY DOUBLES VICTORY FOR THE EXPLORERS WITH A
RESULT OF EIGHT-SIX.

----KEVIN:
MOVING ONTO FIELD HOCKEY… THE EXPLORERS
CAM 3 TRAVELED TO BETHLEHEM-PENNSYLVANIA TO TAKE ON
CG 21 LEHIGH UNIVERSITY. THE EXPLORERS WERE OUTSHOT
SEVEN-TWO. HOWEVER THE VISITING EXPLORERS TOOK
ADVANTAGE ON THEIR SECOND PENALTY CORNER IN 30
SECONDS DURING THE 48TH MINUTE. JUNIOR BETH
CAREY SET UP REBECCA CHYLACK TO BREAK THE
ZERO-ZERO TIE. THE ASSIST WAS CAREY’S TEAM BEST
SIXTH OF THE SEASON AND THIS WAS THE THIRD GAME
IN THE LAST FOUR THAT CHYLACK SCORED. JUNIOR
FSCG 22 EMMA RUTH MADE FIVE SAVES THROUGHOUT THE GAME
TO CLAIM THE WIN AND THE SHUTOUT. FINAL SCORE…

MUSIC FROM LA SALLE’S JAZZ BAND AND ENJOYED FINE
CUISINE WHILE BIDDING ON A VARIETY OF ITEMS
DURING A SILENT AND LIVE AUCTION. ITEMS AVAILABLE
TO BID ON INCLUDED TRAVEL PACKAGES…GOLF
OUTINGS..A WEBER GAS GRILL AND EVEN PRESS ROW
TICKETS TO A MEN’S BASKETBALL GAME INCLUDING
LUNCH WITH THE COACHING STAFF PRIOR TO THE
GAME. ALL PROFITS FROM THE EVENT WENT TOWARDS
LA SALLE’S 22 ATHLETIC PROGRAMS.

THE LA SALLE UNIVERISTY BASEBALL TEAM
PARTICIPATED IN THE ANNUAL PARKWAY FIVE-KAY RUN
CAM 3 AND WALK ALONG WITH SEVEN THOUSAND OTHER
CG 24 PARTICIPANTS. THE TEAM WAS ABLE TO PARTNER WITH
PROJECT TEAM WORK AND “A SMILE FOR KYLE” WHICH
WAS JUST ONE OF THE HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN
GROUPS REPRESENTING CANCER PATIENTS. A SIGNED
BASEBALL WAS PRESENTED TO KYLE BY THE TEAM AND
WAS JUST ONE OF THE MANY FUN THINGS KYLE WAS A
PART OF ON THE DAY. THE PARKWAY RUN HAS RAISED
ALMOST TWO MILLION DOLLARS FOR THE CHILDRENS
HOSPITAL OF PHILADELPHIA.

MEN’S SOCCER PLAYER AUSTIN JOHNSON WAS NAMED
A-10 CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK. JOHNSON SCORED HIS
FIRST TWO COLLEGIATE GOALS THIS PAST WEEK
CAM 1 AGAINST NAVY INCLUDING THE GAME WINNER. HE HAS
CG 25 PLAYED IN ALL EIGHT EXPLORERS GAMES AND
