1) For pipes efficiently protected against corrosion, the thickness may be reduced by an amount up to not more than 1 mm.
2) For sounding pipes, except those for cargo tanks with cargo having a flash point less than 60° C, the minimum wall thickness is intended
to apply to the part outside the tank.
3) For threaded pipes, where allowed, the minimum wall thickness is to be measured at the bottom of the thread.
4) The minimum wall thickness for bilge lines and ballast lines through deep tanks and for cargo line is subject to special consideration.
5) For larger diameters the minimum wall thickness is subject to special consideration.
6) The wall thickness of pipes within cargo oil and ballast tanks in systems for remote control of valves is not to be less than 4mm.
7) For inlets and sanitary discharges see Pt. 3 Ch. 2 Sec. 11 K 100.
8) For stainless steel pipes the minimum wall thickness will be specially considered, but it is in general not to be less than given in Table A1
for pipes of copper alloys.
9) For air pipes on exposed decks, see Pt 3 Ch. 2 Sec. 11 K 300.
1) The wall thickness of pipes within cargo oil and ballast tanks in
systems for remote control of valves is not to be less than :
3 mm for Al-Brass. 2 mm for Cu-Ni and stainless steel.

Notes:
1 Where the thickness of pipes specified in standards does not comply with the minimum thickness in this
Table, the standard pipe may be used if the difference is 0.4 mm or less.
2 Pipes are to be galvanized at least inside, except those fitted in the engine room.
3 For pipes with a nominal diameter other than shown in this Table, their minimum diameter will be
considered by the Society in each case.

LIMIT OF WORKING SPACE FOR OUTFITTING IN ENGINE ROOM
1. APPLICATION:
This standard is to ensure the necessary working space available and also to decide the limitation dimension
inside the engine room for the normal commercial vessel such as piping arrangement, installation of out fitting,
welding and hull reinforcement work.

2-3 Pipe with insulation
1) In case the pipe are cover with insulation, the minimum dimension for about 2-1 and 2-2 to be
50mm.
2) In way of high pressure pipe flanges, sufficient room to be provided for the flanges area as
shown on the figure below for retightening or renewal of packing in case of leakage. Standard
dimension is 500MM but not to be less than 300mm.
