REGIONAL RECYCLING PROGRAM

The Drumheller & District Solid Waste Management
Association and Wheatland County are pleased to
announce their new Regional Recycling Program.
The Association will initially collect cardboard and
newsprint at all of the transfer stations within
Wheatland County. After the program is established
and the public becomes accustomed to the recycling
program, the Association may consider expanding
the acceptable items to include other household
recyclables,
Effective May 2010 there will be roll off recycling
containers placed at all of the Transfer Stations.
One for Newsprint and one for Cardboard, Please
ensure you place only cardboard in the cardboard
bin and only newsprint in the newsprint bin,
While most waste products are recyclable, the markets
and economics dictate what products are viable to
collect and process. In order fo encourage “separation
at source" recycling, please collect and sort your
recyclable materials as follows: Cs
CARDBOARD
+ lean & dry, corrugated boxes. No waxed boxes.
> please remove plastic liners, wood inserts, packing etc.
+ all box board, ie: cereal, soap or dry food boxes, Please
remove all plastic liners
+ brown paper bags & brown paper envelopes.
* PLEASE cut cardboard and place flat through the slots
Into the collection container.
“% Cardboard soiled with paint, oil or other non soluble
chemical is NOT recyclabl
NEWSPRINT
+ dean & dry newspapers, TV. times, Auto Traders etc
any fiyers that come with the newspaper may go with
the newspaper.
+ glossy magazines with staples.
+ PLEASE DO NOT place any food waste or household
garbage inside the recycling containers, this will render
the materials un-recyclable.
+> PLEASE place only cardboard in the cardboard container
and only newsprint in the newsprint container.
