Todd 2417 Brentwood Rd Bexley, OH 43209 May 20, 2010 Re: Rebuilding the FCRP Dear Committee Member: ‘As you are no doubt aware, the Coalition to Rebuild the Franklin County Republican Party has begun a concerted effort to use the May 26, 2010 FCRP reorganization meeting to launch this vital and necessary initiative. With this letter, you will find a one page summary of information regarding the performance of the FCRP over the last six years, from both a financial and operations. perspective. In addition, the summary outlines a proposed platform of changes that we believe is necessary to restore the fortunes of the FCRP As a part of this effort, | have agreed to submit my name on Wednesday, for consideration as a candidate for the position of FCRP Executive Committee Chair. Accordingly, you will find background materials on my career both as a lawyer and, specifically, regarding my legal/political activities At every level, the Republican Party needs to return to its core principles of smaller government, lower taxes and preserving the opportunity to pursue personal happiness. Our future as a party, as well as our abilty to successfully win elections here in Franklin County, requires the reaffirmation of these principles. Not only Republicans, but also the vast majority of independent voters share these core values. Thus, clearly and concisely articulating these principles is critical to our future successors. | look forward to working together with you to rebutld our FORP. Yours sincerely, Bit Fomel William M. Todd Doe 3588764 Ver REBUILDING THE PARTY ‘A new Leadership Team For the Franklin County Republican Party [As Republicans, we must fight for lower spending, smaller government, personal liberty and pro-famnily principles. > We must adopt and promote a clear platform of our core principles. > We must recruit and cultivate our best people, The voters have rejected far too many of our candidates recently and that must change, now. As Republicans, we must reach out to our friends in Franklin County. > We must embrace every part of our community: including our African-American and Hispanic friends, our young people, our 912 and Tea Party members, Independents and even disaffected Democrats. As Republican we must correct our Party's operational deficiencies, > We must replace our broken endorsement process, We should be judicious in our endorsements and encourage primaries for open positions. v We need to insist on transpareney at all levels within our Party and never engage in unethical behavior. The public must be able to trust us to actin their best interest. > Elections for public office must be challenged whenever possible, vy We must develop a cadre of future Party leaders and Republican candidates. > We must develop a sustainable fund raising mechanism to raise the money necessary to properly support our Candidates in Franklin County. Consider these facts: ‘+ In 2008, Democrats raised 40% more than Republicans. = In 2009, Democrats raised $3 for every $1 we raised. © In 2010, Democrats raised $4 for every $1 we raised, ‘The FCRP must stand for honesty, integrity, and competence. The fundamental operating principle must bbe winning elections with candidates of sound character and integrity. In 2010, Americans are demanding accountability from politicians and political parties. As a party, we must be accountable to the voters today. Let's Work Together As a Team to Rebuild the Party !
