Content-Specific Tools

Tool 1: Raz Kids

o Description: Raz-Kids provides
comprehensive leveled reading resources for
students. Kids access their leveled text
through an interactive learning portal.
Children choose an eBook and then can listen
to it, read it at their own pace, and record
themselves reading it. Students then take a
corresponding quiz to test their
comprehension.

Uses

Strengths

Can be used as Daily 5s Listen to Reading station where

students can improve reading fluency by hearing a model of
what fluency sounds like
Students can practice reading the same eBook over and over
until they become fluent
Comprehension quizzes students take can help you determine
future instruction needs for the student (quiz scores can be
accessed online by the teacher)

Has more than 800 leveled eBooks

Books are offered at 27 different levels of reading difficulty
Content of books is incredibly varied, so there is something to
interest every student (my current students this year never
complained about running out of good stories on the app)
Has Spanish eBook and quiz translations for ELL students
Includes digital management and reporting tools for teachers
to easily track individual and class-wide reading progress

Weaknesses

Only contains leveled readers- students will not find regular

stories they have read or heard before

Kids might be tempted to rush through stories just to get to

the quiz so they can earn points

Subscription for a single year for a class of up to 36 students is

$99.95

problem solving and make math fun
