VOCABULARYOT THE LECTURE: IQ AND EQ: DO THEY MATTER?

Enable somebody to do something. - To make it possible for somebody to do something.


Undertake something. - To make yourself responsible for something and start doing it.
Prevail (against/over something) (of ideas, opinions, etc.).- To be accepted, especially
after a struggle or an argument.
Emerge. - (of facts, ideas, etc.).- To become known.

VOCABULARY OF THE READING: "STAY ON TARGET

Stay on target. - To stay focused or on track when there are distractions or danger
about.

Get something going.- To start/activate

Stare at. - To look fixedly at.

Wander. - (Of a persons mind or thoughts). - To stop being directed on something and
to move without much control to other ideas, subjects, etc.

Leftover. - That has not been eaten or used at the end of something.

Devote. - To give most of your time, energy, attention, etc. to somebody/something.

Keep someone from doing something. - To prevent someone from doing something.

Mislay something. - To put something somewhere and then be unable to find it again,
especially for only a short time.

Cross out something. - To remove from a list.

Drag on. to be unnecessary long.

Stand out. - To excel.
