Low rise apartments are three to four storey buildings that are designed in a variety of different configurations, depending upon the size and context of the site to be redeveloped. These buildings will normally contain many dwelling units that share a ground level entrance and share amenity space within the building or on the property. Traditionally known as Walk-up apartments, they are found in many mature neighborhoods and were typically constructed as smaller buildings taking up only one or two lots and with no more than three storeys. More recent versions of Low Rise Apartments are often much larger and up to five and half storeys high, which is not compatible with lower scale of development in mature neighborhoods. Low Rise Apartments are in important form of housing in the City; the following infill Guidelines seek to encourage this form of housing while ensuring that it remains compatible with the neighborhoods in which it is located.
Statement of the Problem
Goals and Objectives Signficance of the Study This study will provide options for the architects, clients and users that may develop the Low Rise Apartment. It will be also beneficial to all involved individuals regarding with the structure for future references, such as strategy management, marketings risks and threats, identify strengths and weaknesses by understanding the needs of community and practice competitive quality works. Most importantly, the significance of this research is to educate the future clients the ability to decide on certain situations. Scope and Delimitation This study limits its coverage on the informations and important factors in building Low Rise Apartment buildings, with its certain clients, users, architects, or even researchers. Its purpose is to identify common problem within the building itself, effects on the surrounding environment, and also to seek the opportunities available upon building the project. This study also covers the different perceptions and ideas on existing Low Rise Apartments around the world that coulp help the development of the structure to accommodate new technologies that may be introduced.
