ICM2 OSCE Final

Student Report
Academic Year 2013-2014

Tu, Michael
Introduction: The ICM2 Final OSCE score is comprised of four sections. This report
provides you with your score for each section along with any feedback provided by
either the standardized patient or preceptor.
Each section is worth a certain
percentage of the total score. These calculations are found at the end of the report.
Any questions you may have should be forwarded to Dr. Jennifer Schwartz, ICM2
Statewide Course Director (jeschwar@iu.edu).
Section 1: Physical Exam Skills. This score is based on responses from a checklist
completed by the standardized patient regarding your ability to accurately perform
the physical exam skills. This section is worth 35% of the total ICM2 Final OSCE

Exam for eyelid pallor not conducted
eventhough patient mentioned paleness;
notecard not given. Questioning for history
started out okay but as we went on and I
was asked to further explain my condition.
The student asked me questions about the
information I just gave him. "I don't have
much of an appetite" followed by "Have you
noticed a change in your appetite?" Eye
contact was minimal, and the
physical
examination insofar as technique was
alright.
Student was understandably nervous, It
seemed on many occassions that he didnt
know what to check.... Alot of akward
pauses.... Student was very polite but didnt
give me an opportunity to ask questions or
pretty much just said thank you, shook my
hand & departed the room~ Just need a
little work on closing & relaxing~

Section 4: Focused OSCE case write-up. This score is based on your post-encounter
note written after each of two patient encounters. A preceptor or course director
within the state, not necessarily your own center, graded your post-encounter note
