Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are working hard to organize our annual Beach Day field trip to celebrate the end of the
school year. I know it is the highlight of the school year for many of the students.
On Tuesday, July 12, our entire school will be traveling to Centennial Beach (570 Boundary
Bay Road) in Tsawwassen to participate in our special Douglas Park Beach Day. The buses will
be leaving promptly at 9:10 so please arrive to school on time so you dont get left behind.
THIS FIELD TRIP WILL GO AHEAD RAIN OR SHINE
Below I have noted the schedule for the day:
9:00 a.m.
Buses leave the school for Centennial Beach
9:50 a.m.
Buses arrive at Centennial Beach
- there is no swimming just ankle wading because there is no lifeguard
- Swimsuits are not necessary
- Please leave boogie boards and water guns at home
- pack pails, sand toys, Frisbees, sunscreen, hats, towels, extra drinking
water/juice, snacks, at least one change of clothes etc. in backpacks
-Students will need a signed note if they are leaving the beach with another
parent. There will be no phoning home from cell phones to make
arrangements

Buses leave Centennial Beach for school
2:00 p.m.
Students arrive back at school
2:50 p.m.
Dismissal
Beach Day is to be a family day and we would welcome the extra help with supervising
children both on the bus and at the beach. Please indicate below if you are willing to help. Your
childs teacher will contact you if you are needed to help supervise. If you are not called, you are
welcome to travel to the Centennial Beach on your own and meet up with us.
The PAC is providing the funding for both the busses and lunches: cheese pizza, gold fish
crackers and bottled water. In order to keep trash to a minimum, we ask that you use reusable
containers as much as possible for any additional food sent along. On the day of the field trip,
please make sure your child is dressed appropriately to be outside all day, wear sunscreen and
bring a hat. A change of clothes is very advisable. We are looking forward to a fun day at the Beach
and are keeping our fingers crossed for nice weather.
