PUBLIC GIFTS/DONATIONS TO THE SCHOOLS- ADJUNCT REGULATION



A. Procedures for donating funds to support adjunct teaching staff

1. The community partner, parent organization, individual or other group
interested in the continuation of a program that may have been eliminated
or reduced due to financial decisions must first meet with the building
administrator and the Senior Executive Director of PK-12 Schools to discuss
possible options for the programs continuance. When making this
determination, the following factors shall be considered:

a. The programs position will be assigned as an adjunct teacher for one
academic school year;
b. Each adjunct teacher may only teach 270 clock hours per semester for
the entire District;
c. Adjunct teachers must meet the requirements listed in OKCPS Board
Policy G-68 and G-68-R1;
d. Any funds raised will be used to support the position or program not
an individual person;
e. Each school site may fundraise for 1 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) (2
adjunct teachers)

Funds may be collected via The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools,
a 501(c) 3 organization. The donation process will be outlined using the
Foundations Partner Funding Agreement. In addition, any 501(c) 3
organization may collect funds for this purpose.

2. If it is determined that it is in the best interest of the District to collect
outside funds to support an adjunct teacher, then the community partner,
parent organization, individual or other group may begin the fundraising
process as outlined below.

3. In determining the amount of funds needed to finance the program, the
following estimated costs will be used

a. $20.00 hourly base rate with benefits (FICA/Medicare, Teacher


Retirement required contributions, Workers Compensation &
Unemployment) totaling $25.30 per hour.
b. $20.00 hourly base rate with benefits and the Oklahoma City Public
School Foundation administrative fee of 3% totaling $26.06 per hour.

4. Any residual funds will be designated for use by the school site for other
program needs related to the adjunct role (i.e.: art residuals will be used for
art program needs) as approved by the site administrator.

5. Full funding for the adjunct position for the 2016-2017 school year only must
be raised and funds submitted to OKCPS by July 5. The full funding
submission date for 2017-2018 school years and beyond shall be June 1. This
includes any adjunct teacher who will teach a full-year, for credit course. In
the event funding is only for the Spring Semester, then funding shall be
raised and submitted to OKCPS by November 1.

B. Procedures for donating funds to support adjunct coaching staff



1. The community partner, parent organization, individual or other group
interested in the continuation of a program that may have been eliminated
or reduced due to financial decisions must first meet with the building
administrator, the site athletic coordinator, and the District Director of
Athletics to discuss possible options for the programs continuance. When
making this determination, the following factors shall be considered:

a. Adjunct coaches must meet the requirements listed in OKCPS Board
Policy G-68 and G-68-R1;
b. Any funds raised will be used to support the position or program, not
an individual person ;
c. All funds raised shall be donated directly to OKCPS upon completion of
the fundraising.

Funds may be collected via The Foundation for Oklahoma City Public Schools,
a 501(c) 3 organization. The donation process will be outlined using the
Foundations Partner Funding Agreement. In addition, any 501(c)3
organization may collect funds for this purpose.

2. If it is determined that it is in the best interest of the District to collect
outside funds to support an adjunct coach, then the community partner,
parent organization, individual or other group may begin the fundraising
process as outlined below.

3. In determining the amount of funds needed to finance the adjunct coaching
position, funding organizations shall refer to the Extracurricular Activities
Compensation schedule in the Collective Bargaining Agreement plus any
applicable benefit load.

4. Full funding for the adjunct coaching position for the 2016-2017 school year
only must be raised and funds submitted to OKCPS by July 5. The full funding
submission date for 2017-2018 and beyond shall be June 1 for fall/winter
sports and November 1 for spring sports.
