How 1005 Students Use Personal Laptops in the Classroom

The 1005 students use their laptop in their classroom for learning and personal purposes.
The purpose of this research report was to describe how 1005 students used personal laptops in
the classroom. The importance of this research report is to analyze how 1005 students use their
laptop and provide ways in effectively using them. The information found in the research report
was based on five different sources. First, Diffen.com pointed out how digital different from
analog device. Next, Academic. Brooklyn website defined the word digital and analog. Third,
Theguardian.com informed about how digital devices have negative effect on the student
performance. Fourth, ELearning organization showed positive effect of digital device on student.
Lastly, thomasnet.com explained how digital device affect industry.

History of Digital Device

Technology had been invented and became part of our life for a long time. Since
Paleolithic (Old Stone Age) period. Human have invented the first technology, stone tools since
2.6 million Years ago. later technology still interfered in our daily life and it was getting better
every day. Until now, there are two types of device which is analog and digital. The use
continuous data and processes for any operations is analog. If the device use any kind of
computer will be judge as digital. For example, smartphone, tablet and smartwatch. The work of

diffen (2014) have showed us that a digital device is a device that can receive, store, process or
send digital information. In form of positive and non-positive string (one, zero). There are many
purposes for the digital device to be use. This research report will be focusing on digital devices
effect on learning system.

Students Attitude toward Digital Device

There are many attitudes toward this change of learning system. However this research
report will be focusing on student attitude. Statista (2015) notify us about students attitude on
digital device and how they think about this change. From the survey informed that most of the
student have positive attitude on this. 89% of the survey group said that it make the learning
more fun and 81% said that it help them to do better in class. The school also give out positive
opinion. They state that it help improve students confident and make them realize their potential.
These are some of the positive attitude from student and school. However, there are some
drawback. The work of Hallowell (2013) have present that the use of digital device make
children and adult lack of concentration. It also make the children do worst on language
comprehension and sequencing. The research also suggest that there are some unknown effect
from electromagnetic field which can no harm in short term, but no one know how it will do on
the body in long term.

Finding
The result from the survey informs us that we have more students use their laptop on
study purpose than on personal purpose. Which mean that laptop have some effect on the student
in muids. The interview of two students also show that this technology have changed their way
of learning in better way and they have positive attitude toward this change. Digital device help
them to research for their project. It also help them to communicate with teacher more easily.
This technology also good for teacher because they can sent work or test online to student. They
can grade the student work online and send the score to the school without writing a single word.
However there is a downside. Some student still use their laptop for personal purpose. This
show some irresponsibility of the student.

Conclusion
In conclusion, this research report aimed to find out whether 1005 student use their laptop
for education or personal purpose. The research report revealed that laptop have affect the
student of MUIDS in different way and there are some attitudes toward this change. On one
hand, student can access to more information in less time and teacher can check on student easier
than before. On the other hand, the student can use it for personal purpose rather than education
purpose. This depended on how the teacher handle them and represent how they were taught.
This research report recommend further study on negative effect of digital device on teen.
