gender roles are clearly defined as the king mention that women are not
accept to be teacher while in England gender roles are equal.

called Anna sir instead of madam. In Siam, women did not stand in the
presence of the King. But Anna stood in front of the King. This shows that
Anna wants to convey the message, through break down the customs of
Siam, societies should raise the position of women and both men and women
should be treated equally.

translator said to Anna that women did not stand in the presence of the King.

West believed that all human were equal.

noblewoman keep her Slave chained and working. But the king reaction was
telling the noblewomen that the law in Siam says that slaves have the right
to buy their freedom. While England is low context culture country and when
Anna try to buy the slaves freedom in exchange of her wedding ring. Which
means that individual freedom is valued.
Honor verse Shame which also presence in this scene, noble rights are
certainly respected in Siam culture. While who did the shame have to pay for
his mistake by the most expensive he have.

The King asked Anna to prepare for traditional British dinner during 3 weeks.
This to improve Siamese culture with the British. While Anne organizing and
teaching the servants, the king attend and all slaves fell on the ground greet
for him and they broke everything that they were handle . Anna said to the

bow down. The king agree and said that only for one night while he presence
in the dinner. This is undoubtedly happen for the first time in Siamese
country.

high score in power distance. While in England the score is lower.
Siamese culture is a high context culture which is no direct eye contact
