My Community

A community is where there are certain types of people and things

around you that you can adapt to. The communities I belong to are Chicago
Academy High School, Mary Lyon Elementary, Belmont-Cragin, Clifton NJ,
Chicago IL. The community I feel the most part of is Belmont-Cragin. I feel part
of this community because I have lived in that community for 10 years and
adapted to it. Being a part of Belmont-Cragin affects the decisions that I make.
The racial and ethnic makeup in Belmont-Cragin is 79% Latino, 15% White,
and 6% Other (Belmont Cragin, 2016). The gender statistics of Belmont-Cragin is
50% male and 50% female (Cities in zip code 60639, 2014). The economic status in
Belmont-Cragin is $15,718 (Belmont Cragin, Chicago,IL Employment and Jobs, 20102016). The population of the community is 77,568 {since 2013} (Belmont-Cragin,
Chicago IL, Demographics, 2010). The leaders in my community is the principal of
Belmont-Cragin Elementary school (congratulations letter, 2013). Sites in my
community are the Chicago public library, Cragin Park, Football/soccer fields
(Portage Cragin, Chicago park district, 2014, 2016).
Members of my community that I feel most close to are my neighbors
Dulce, and Ayah. I feel close to them because well first of all my neighbor Dulce
is really sweet and she likes to teach me and my siblings some words in Spanish
and she also helps us out with anything that we need. My neighbor Ayah is
sweet and really nice and she makes really good food. Decisions that I have
been affected by my neighbors is that I help them whenever I need anything. My
community members have affected my decisions because they treat me the
way I want to be treated and they are people that I can trust. In my community I
am someone who is helpful, responsible, and trustworthy. Experiences that
made me this way is that I help out my neighbors and they trust me with many
things.
