Investigations in Science 7 June 17, 2016

What we did this week:

Happy last day of school!!!! This has been a wonderful school year and I am
sad to see my students move on to 8th grade. I am hoping that I will still run into
many of them even though they will be on a different floor of the new building
next school year.
Monday, we went continued with adaptations. There are two main types of
adaptations, behavioral and structural. Structural are the physical traits like
camouflage. There are learned behaviors or instinctual behaviors. Examples like
hibernation, migration, forming groups, etc.
Tuesday, we took our last assessment on natural selection and adaptations.
Wednesday we had our fun day. In the morning, we played basketball,
soccer, kickball, indoor games, or walked and relaxed. Students received a
popsicle. In the afternoon, we watched a movie and cleaned out our lockers.
Thursday, we completed a section of our DesignFolio on mass extinctions for
a summative grade. This is our last grade in the gradebook.
Today, we will have time to sign yearbooks and say our goodbyes.
