1.1 Download SpatialXL

Before Downloading:

The file size is around 140mb. You can use a free download manager (FDM) which makes the
download faster. You can download FDM at http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/
Otherwise you can just do a normal download.

To Download:

Download SpatialXL from the following link:

http://www.primethought.biz/SpatialXLDownloads

Note, you will need to choose to download SpatialXL 64 bit (1) or SpatialXL 32 bit (2)
o If you have Excel 2007, download SpatialXL 32 bit
o If you have Excel 2010 or 2013, it can be either 32 or 64 bit.
o To check, open Excel and click File, Help and under About Microsoft Excel it will
indicate whether your Excel version is 32 or 64 bit

1.2 Install SpatialXL

Before Installing:

Uninstall any previous versions of SpatialXL from the Control Panel

Close Excel before you begin installation

Make sure you have admin rights

Occasionally certain anti-virus software can interfere with installation. If your software
does not install correctly, we recommend switching off the anti-virus and running the
installation again

To Install:

Double click the SpatialXL installation file to install, and follow the instructions

During installation it may ask to either repair or remove Microsoft Visual ++2010, if
so click repair when prompted.

Once the software has installed, open Excel. You should have a SpatialXL tab installed (1)

1.3 License SpatialXL

Save the license (.lic) file you have been provided to your machine

Click the SpatialXL tab in Excel and click the About SpatialXL icon (1)

In the box that appears click Update license (2)

Click load license from file (3)

Browse to the folder where you saved the license file and open the .lic file

Click OK

To Open the Spatial Pane click Show SpatialXL (1)

Your spatial pane will open, and will be docked next to your excel spreadsheet

To float the SpatialXL pane so that it fills the whole screen, click Show Floating(2)

To return to the docked view, simply close the spatial pane or tick off Show Floating
