We are pleased to announce the launch of 4G Access by Yes @ UTM

Powered by Yes 4G. This advanced integrated wireless network
is built for UTM students to access the Internet and intranet within
University Teknologi Malaysias (UTM) Johor Bahru campus.
4G Access by Yes @ UTM aims to empower all students of UTM to
achieve academic excellence with superior technology solutions, in
line with the vision to be the frontier of leading academic institutions.
This initiative will further instil responsible Internet usage amongst
students in UTM in transferring knowledge and expertise with stateof-the-art technologies.
This is made possible through a smart partnership with the leading
and innovative technology provider Yes 4G.

This Authorised Usage Policy governs the manner in which 4G

Access by Yes @ UTM data capacity is provisioned for educational
purposes. The objective is to ensure that all students will be able to
enjoy the best Internet connectivity from this managed service.

in your UTM ID (e.g. student@live.utm.my) or Yes ID

What is 4G Access by Yes @ UTM?
A Yes ID is your unique ID to access Yes 4G converged network through
4G Access by Yes @ UTM hotspots. Every Yes ID comes with a fixed 018
number to further enable voice and messaging services.
Example : (yourstudentID.utm@yes.my) / (018 123 4567)
What can you do with Yes ID?

Default landing page after login with UTM ID

1. Freedom to access the Internet with up to 10 times of normal

2. Voice and messaging services via Yes Life
What do you get as students?
1. Yes ID (limit to one per student) under the Education Partner Program
2. 300MB worth of data every month (free) until graduation
What can you do with 300MB?
1. Visit 300 static HTML pages
2. Send 2000 emails (with minor attachments)
3. Listen to online radio for 90 minutes

How do I connect to 4G Access by Yes @ UTM?

You can connect to 4G Access by Yes @ UTM using your UTM ID (e.g.
UTMID@live.utm.my or UTMID@utm.my) at any 4G Access by Yes @ UTM
hotspots. Refer to page 7 for step-by-step instructions.

UTM intranet. Additionally, with free internet every month subject to
UTMs Authorised Usage Policy, you can use the internet for learning
and research at 4G Access by Yes @ UTM hotspots in UTM Johor
Bahru campus.
Who is eligible for 4G Access by Yes @ UTM?
All registered UTM students with valid UTM ID are eligible for 4G
Access by Yes @ UTM.
Where can I access 4G Access by Yes @ UTM?
You can access 4G Access by Yes @ UTM at the locations in the
Hotspot Location Map on page 13.

Yes, you can. However, it will consume the quota from your Yes account.
Does it affect my monthly free internet from the UTM ID, if I
connect to 4G Access by Yes @ UTM using Yes ID?
No, it doesnt. The monthly free internet is only allocated for login using
UTM ID.
How many devices can I connect to 4G Access by Yes @ UTM at the
same time?
You can connect to 4G Access by Yes @ UTM with maximum 2 devices per
student concurrently.
Why is there limited tonnage per month per student?
This is to ensure all students will be able to enjoy internet service where
authorised usage policy applies. Responsible internet usage for
knowledge transfer is encouraged at all times.
Can I check the usage balance using my UTM ID?
No, this feature is currently unavailable.
Can I access the internet if I finished using the monthly quota?
No, you will not be able to access the internet if the monthly data is used
up. However, you can upgrade to 4G speed internet plans such as Campuspack or Valuepack using your Yes Account. Visit Yes Campus Store at
Arked Meranti to find out more.

Can I access UTM intranet if I finished using the quota?

Yes, you can as it is free of charge.
What are the charges if I access 4G Access by Yes @ UTM using
UTM ID?
There are no charges. Using your UTM ID, you have unlimited
access to UTM intranet. However,the monthly quota applies when you
browse the internet.

Where can I find the 4G Access

by Yes @ UTM hotspot locations?
A location map of the UTM campus in the
following pages will tell you where they are.
You can start surfing in 4G speed
immediately!

What are the charges if I access 4G Access by Yes @ UTM using

Yes ID?
Standard charges apply (RM 0.09 / 3 MB) for accessing internet. You
are eligible to enjoy lower rates with the purchase of Yes Campuspack
and Valuepack. Accessing intranet within UTM Johor Bahru campus is
free of charge.
I have problems using 4G Access by Yes @ UTM. Who should I
contact?
Please write to us at utmsupport@yes.my. Please include your UTM
ID/ Yes ID and summary of issue in the e-mail.
After Ive mailed to utmsupport@yes.my, what is my expected
response/acknowledgement time?
2 hours via e-mail & voice call. However, if we do exceed the time
frame, please be patient with us as we will do our best to serve all
customers on time.
