Course Objectives: to provide sound knowledge of nanotechnology, Spintronics & understanding of principal, theory and working of nano-electronic
device.
Pre-requisites: electron transport in semiconductors. 1D, 2D and 3D nanostructures. Basics of quantum mechanics and quantum confinement.
Student Learning Outcomes:
The students will understand the need and aspects of nanoelectronics, They will be able to know the Principal,working and application of 1D,2D &3D
nanostructure based devices. They will be able to understand the Theory and mechanism of spintronics and memory devics. They will learn the fundamentals of
Quantum computation: the next step of classical computation.

Basics of spintronics, theories of spintronics, theories of spin injection, spin relaxation and spin dephasing, spintronics
devices and implication, spin filter, spin diode & Transistor.

Module V Quantum Computation

: Concept of quantum computation, Quantum bit, Properties of qubit, No cloning theorem, Quantum gate operators, CNOT gate, entanglement, two qubit computations.

Pedagogy for Course Delivery:


The class will be taught using theory and experimental based examples. In addition to this, the student will be exposed to new research frontiers related to the
topic.
