Introduction
Reactionsstartwiththecollisiontheory,sayingthatchemicalscollideintoeachotherand
haveachancetoreactiftheyareattherightpositioning.Chemicalshavetobeorientedcorrectly
forathechancetohappen.Theconcentrationhasahugeimpactonhowfastareactionhappens.
Thisisbecausethereismoreforthingstoreact.Theamountofenergycanalsodeterminehow
fastareactiongoes.Inagraph,thereistheamountofreactantsandproducts.Thereactantsis
whatisstartedwithinareactionand,theproductsiswhatisendedupwith.Thegraphwillshow
thereactantsatahighspotuntiltheactivationenergyisgiven,enoughtostartareactionand
bringthereactantsdown.Whilethisisgoingon,theproductssimultaneouslyisgoingup.Inside
ofthesystemwastalkedaboutthereisHydrogenperoxideandIodineandHydrogen.Thismakes
adoublebondedIodine,whichthenmixedwithVitaminC.Thebondmakesareactionthat
separatestheIodinesagain.However,theIodinesometimesmixeswiththestarchandturns

itwasconcludedthatIodinewouldchangehowdarkthecontainergot.MoreIodineandthe
reactionshouldhappenfaster.Thiswouldmakesensebecause,thereismorechemicalstocollide
with,accordingtothecollisiontheory.

Experimental:
Materials:
BeakerA(150mL)
BeakerB(150mL)
BeakerC(50mL)
HydrogenPeroxide
VitaminC
Starch
Iodine

Inthisexperiment,3beakersweregathered,thenthebeakerswerelabeledAandBand
C.InbeakerA,10dropsofVitaminCwasadded,25dropsofIodinewasadded,alongwith5
mLofwater.InbeakerB,60dropsofhydroperoxidewasadded,10dropsofstarchwasadded,
alongwith5mL.BothbeakersarepreparedtobeputintobeakerC,andwhenmixed,thetimer
started.Whenthereactionseemstostop(whenthecolorwasadarkred),thetimerwasstopped.
Whiletheexperimenthappened,theonlychemicalthatwaschangedwasIodine.Thiswasdone

toreducetheamountofvariableschanged.Ifanotherwaschangedalongwithitwewontknow
whatitdoesbyitself.
