SOCIAL CAPITAL

Social Capital is basically about whom you know that will


improve or positively affect your social status/networks amongst
the people within your field. Helping one to feel fully empowered.

Human Capital is basically about


skills and experience possessed by
someone in terms of their value to
a country or organisation.

KNOWLEDGE CAPITAL
Knowledge Capital refers to an
intangible asset that comprises the
information and skills of a company's
employees, their experience with
business processes, group work and onthe-job learning

Issues Surrounding Around Digital Divide

Social-economic Divide- This implies the ability of one having access in


information and data through the usage of digital device. Because theres
lack of access in the geo-demographic areas there needs to be coverage of
internet access for people who dont have it

Divide in Infrastructure- Due to the infrastructure restrictions most people in


Townships and rural areas use their phones as a source of internet access.
Therefore there should be a project whereby there will be a development of
Wi-Fi in Townships and Rural areas.

Gender Divide- Women should start having more internet access, given from
the statistics they state that women have less internet access then men in
developing and developed countries.

Divide In Content- According to Dutton 70% of the websites are in English


therefore it is proven that English dominates.

Skills Divide- Some people start learning how to operate computers when
they get to universities. The government has to give out computers to
schools that dont have computers.

Universal Access Divide- The physical should get digital access

What is Technoeconomic paradigm?


Refers to how in the initial stages of any new paradigm youd find
an emphasis on the technical side rather than the innovation.

Digital Citizenship

Etiquette-These are the rules and regulations for technology users to use appropriate conduct in society.

Literacy- Its aimed at giving users knowledge and the use of it. Learners are to learn how to use technology
appropriately.

Access- This refers to full electronic participation in society.

Security- Citizens must be responsible by protecting their personal information from outsiders in order to
avoid any harm coming to them.

Health and Well-being-Users need to be aware that there are inherent dangers such as internet addiction,
repetitive stress syndrome and etc.

Commerce- Digital Citizenship encourages users to practice e-commerce (electronic buying and selling of
goods)

Communication- This is the electronic exchange of information (communication). These communication


channels can be Instant Messaging, emailing.

Rights and Responsibility- This refers to that digital citizens have basic digital rights such as the right to
privacy, free speech and etc. These digital rights need to be addressed in order for them to be understood by
digital citizens

Law- It deals with the ethics of technology within the society.
