Title and Description of the Group Activity / Project:

Wiltshire College Radio is a radio made by students for students aiming to replace
the boring same five songs every hour that are played on the TV in the common
room. We also aim to provide a fun club for aspiring radio presenters to get a taster
of what being a real radio presenter is like or a little look in to how radios may go
about broadcasting, you can learn about how to do good quality broadcasts whilst
having fun and giving the rest of the college something to enjoy in the background
as they enjoy their brake.
What we need is a set of advertisements that will be broadcast over the radio to
notify people about up and coming events in the campus and around the whole of
Wiltshire College.
For example:
Do you want to have fun running around and shooting paint at your friends? Then
go up to Hanna in the student liaison office in the common room for more
information!
For adverts to do with events that dont always fall on the same date every year
then we would like a dynamic style of scrips that allows us to only have to re-record
the dates and time and not the whole jingle.
For example:
RAG week is coming up on [insert date here]. If you want to learn more about RAG
week then have a chat with Hanna in the student liaison room in the common
room.
We would also like other advertisements like this for things like

RAG Week

Fresher Fairs

Health & Wellbeing Week

Cultural Awareness Week

Motiv8 drop in sessions

Sexual Health Clinics

Additionally we would like you to interview a member of the Student Union team
about their responsibilities and the benefits/good work of the Student Union.
Dates and times of these events will be released closer to the time.

All work must be evidenced on Weebly.

What have you learned? Identify key skills such as:

Good communication for example being able to arrange a date and time with
Kieran for an interview.

Being able to work in a team of two and sharing each others points to make
an idea into a better idea.

Being independent within tasks such as finding out relevant research towards
Freshers fair.

Learning how to edit audio to make it shorter in duration time and to cut out
unrelated parts.

How to meet a specific running time just like any ordinary radio station.

Being able to go home in the evenings and show dedication to making my

work experience that extra better. This relates to independence.

Using my time carefully. Managing between different units all going on at the
same time.

Literacy / Numeracy / IT skills

Where to cut up certain parts to a sequence.

How to send an email to arrange an event such as the interview.
Edit for example interviews down to one and a half minutes.
Using my SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) from English lessons to
write up little summaries on my Weebly site.

Identify areas which you wish to make improvements in. How will you achieve this?
