Use your devices to go around the room and scan the QR codes that are on the
neon postcards. After following the directions on the card, (read the passage, watch
the video, etc.) and then answer the corresponding question in this packet. Good

1. After viewing the video, write down at least four people who were
represented in the video. How could you recognize them? How did they
contribute to the writing of the Declaration of Independence?

2. Once you have completed the map of the 50 states, write down the names of
the 13 original colonies. Then circle the Middle Colonies, underline the
Southern Colonies and place stars next to the New England Colonies.

3. Why was Washingtons crossing of the Delaware River deemed a turning

point in the war? What do you think may have happened if they hadnt
attacked that Christmas night?

4. What was the biggest result of the Boston Tea Party? Do you think it
backfired on the Sons of Liberty? ***Bonus Points*** Name 2 leading
members of the Sons of Liberty.

5. In your opinion, which Founding Father did the most for our country? Give
two examples to support your opinion.

6. After reading this article, think about all the basic things you take for granted.
If you had to pay taxes every time you watched TV, played an electronic or
stayed up past your bedtime, would you continue to do those things? Why or
why not?

7. This term we have spent a lot of time talking about bias. We know that
authors, illustrators and speakers can give us a skewed view of the facts,
based on how they feel about the issue. Knowing this, who do you think
created this drawing of the Boston Massacre? An American? A Loyalist?
Why? Support your answer.
