Please comment on how this activity will help you to achieve the Learning Outcomes as IB
CAS requirement?
For my CAS service project, I will help in selling secondhand clothing to the citizens of Pulau
Pramuka. This event will take place during my fieldtrip to Pulau Pramuka, and it will consist of
the whole grade 11 students who are joining the fieldtrip. The clothes we sell came from
donations from the students. From this activity, I can learn a lot of new skills and understand
about my surroundings. Therefore, this activity will help me to become a better person.
Worked collaboratively with others Since this activity is a class activity, I will be working with
my class and the supervisor to sell the secondhand clothes to the citizens of Pulau Pramuka.
In this activity, the job will be divided into three main parts which are created based on the
price of the items sold. During this activity, there will be a lot of communication between the
sellers and customers and I also have to make sure that there wont be any mistakes in price
or things that the customers bought.
Planned and initiated activities This CAS activity will be planned from January, where
students will donate their unused clothes first. This planning will include the whole class to
contribute their ideas to the program in Pulau Pramuka. Students also need to donate their
unused clothing to be sold in Pulau Pramuka. Then the clothes will be divided into groups
according to its price.
Engaged in issues of global importance This activity relates to the issues of global
importance which it relates with the issue of poverty. Most of the people in Pulau Pramuka
were not able to have proper clothing since they are suffering from poverty. By doing this CAS
service program, I am helping the citizens to have proper clothes although it is secondhand.
The clothes will be sold for very cheap price. Then the money from this activity will be
donated. Therefore, this activity will help the citizens of Pulau Pramuka
Considered the ethical implications of their actions By doing this activity, I have helped the
citizens of Pulau Pramuka by letting them to have proper clothes. Therefore, I have helped to
lower the weight that citizens of Pulau Pramuka have regarding their daily clothes. This
activity will give benefit to the people in Pulau Pramuka.
