The results are in, we

have multiple winners!
Every year, students
across the country compete
within their regions for recognition in art and writing
categories of the Scholastic
Art and Writing Awards.
The awards were created
in 1923, and are the longest
running high school award
competition in the country.
Since then, the awards have
strived to recognize the vision, ingenuity, and talent
of the nations youth, and
provide opportunities for
creative students to be celebrated for their passions.
[The purpose of the
awards is] to give those
high school students who
demonstrate superior talent and achievement in
things of the spirit and of
the mind at least a fraction
of the honors and rewards
accorded to their athletic
classmates for their bodily
skills, founder Maurice R.
Robinson said.
The awards are differentiated into multiple categories: Gold Keys, Silver Keys
and Honorable Mentions.
All are applicable to the
Individual
Categories,
but only portfolios can
receive Gold Keys.

Every year the number
of participants increases,
and more teens become
a part of the Scholastic
community.
In our school alone,
there were 15 art winners and three writing
winners.
