Key Features
1. Remote Access
Anytime-Anywhere Configuration, Control and Monitor of NEs over an IP network. NMS Clients
can monitor and control NEs using a standard Web Browsers. A client machine can login as a
server and take up the full control of the network.
NE Network Element (Digital Microwave Radio Equipment)
2. Plug & Play with Network Auto Discovery
Once the Network Element (NE) is configured and connected to the network. NMS will
automatically discover the NE (iPASOLINK and NEO) and display in the graphical view with
its current status without any operator intervention.
3. Advance Event/Alarm Management
The log files such as Current Alarms, Alarm History, Events, NE List etc. can be filtered
using predefined filters customized to specific operation.
4. Enhanced Performance Management
Enhanced Performance Data Management, confirms to ITU-T G.826.
The performance data is automatically saved into the HDD at a scheduled time or can be
upload on demand. Thresholds can be set to give all the necessary alerts in addition to creating
of Reports and Charts.
5. Monitor & Control
Based on open standard SNMP Manager/Agent technology with Northbound SNMP
interface for supervision. This optional SNMP interface make the Digital Microwave Radio
(DMR) equipment an integral part of a higher level network management system. (LCT

Central and Regional Configuration

The Central PNMSj can monitor and control all the regions, this is also considered as
an alternative to parallel PNMSj operation. Up to 50 regions can be configured and
each PNMSj (Regional or Central) can manage up to 10,000 Network Elements.
The regional PNMSj can control and
monitor only one region.

Managed NE (s)

PNMSj system offers parallel NMS operation for

redundancy, it can monitor and control the PASOLINK
Family networks simultaneously and independently.
Alarm or Event traps are send to the two PNMSjsystems
separately. Even if one NMS is down the other can
continue the monitor and control of the network.

PNMSj Properties Color and Severity Setting

Item Severity can be assigned to each individual alarm using PNMSj
properties Severity window and the Color window allows to relate
each item to a specific color.

The example above shows assigning severity as

Major to TX POWER and relating the Major alarm to
Yellow color . Severity setting applies to PNMSj only
and will not reflect on the Web-LCT in iPASOLINK.

Auto Discovery Function

PNMSj is backward-compatible, if the
network consists of different types of NEs
(V3,V4, Paso+ etc.) the Update function is
used to establish the connections.
If the network is pure NEO, or IPASOLINK the
Find NE function is used to establish the
connections.
Newly connected NE
Root NE

Managed Digital Radio

Disconnected NE

It is only necessary to input the Root NE IP Address (GNE) of new cluster

to discover the network. Then the newly connected NEs will be automatically
detected. Selecting the Newly connected NE from the pull down menu will allow
the establishment of connections to the new NEs.
The disconnected NEs can be selected and deleted.
