Dear Mr. Gango:
For my senor project, I chose the topic obesity. I chose this topic because it is becoming an
issue, especially in the United States. More than one third of the adults in the United State are
obese. I want to express the dangers of obesity so that people have an understanding of what they
are getting themselves into.
I want to show the cause and effects of obesity. I also want to show how we can improve and
solve this problem. The focus of the research paper is to inform the people on the dangers of
obesity. Like how we can stop the growth of this problems. Explain how these problems even
occur and healthier solutions to this problems.
My project will be a survey about how people feel about obesity. The students of Sierra Vista
High School will be involved. The potential cost would be around 50 to 60 dollars. The amount
of time I will take will be around 16 to18 hours. Possible interviews would be my doctor who
can further explain obesity and its problems.
My understanding of plagiarism and/or misrepresentation is to write down somebody elses
words and not give them credit. I understand that Sierra Vista high school holds a high standard
of academic honesty that I will abide by. I also understand that if I were to copy or plagiarize my
research paper, I will not be given credit and this may result in a disciplinary action and possible
failure of the first semester of English 12.
