December 1. Wars are expensive. They cost loads of money to fuel tanks, planes
and boats, buy ammo, feed thousands of soldiers, and to clothe them. President
Roosevelt saw the high demand for gasoline to fuel tanks. He ordered this
gasoline rationing to conserve for the war. One single family was allowed only a
small amount per month and were expected to abide by that. This picture
represents one of the many planes to be fueled during this time.

In 1944, the D-Day invasion of Europe took place during World War II as Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy,
France. By this time, Owen Hunt has been a secret serviceman for four months now. He has had many victories and very
few loses. This invasion was what made Owen infamous. His strategy was again to surround and conquer. He was apart of
the Allied forces. The night before the invasion, Owen wrote a letter to Christina back home. No one was sure if they would
make it back home since it was a major invasion. One part of the letter says, Im not sure if Im coming home anytime soon,
but maybe sooner than later. The war is near the end. I am worn down to my wits. I have very little left in me, but you are
the reason I keep going. I want to support us and our future family.

His Rocketlauncher
Owen Hunt used a rocket launcher. This rocket launcher could launch an object
across a battlefield of hundreds of feet. The actual rocket inside would explode on
impact once it hit the ground or another object. Owen was one of few assigned
this weapon because of his exceptional aim. There was more involved in using
this weapon than just pulling the trigger. He had to watch for wind speeds and
precipitation if there was any. He wore a shoulder pad to protect his shoulder from
being badly damaged from the kick. He also used ear plugs since it was a very
noisy weapon.

His Uniform
Owen wore a camouflage uniform to disguise him in the
distance. He wore an American flag on his right shoulder to
show pride in his country. He had his name printed on the
left side right above the heart. He wore light brown heavy
boots to protect his feet from shards of glass, small rocks
and dust. He was covered head-to-toe. He wore a
bulletproof vest to protect him from any bullets. He wears a
dog tag that stays stuffed in his uniform. On this dog tag, it
gives his name and blood type just incase something were
to happen.

His Boots
Every soldier is required to wear a specific type of shoe. They wear a light-colored
ankle boot. It helps to prevent a soldier from rolling his or her ankle while running.
It provides support. It is laced all the way up and double knotted. The thickness of
the boot prevents any outside object from protruding through the shoe. Examples
could be shards of glass, nails or empty gun shells. The buckles on the sides hold
the shoe laces in place. Some of the boots are rubber which means water proof.
