OBITUARY

Udell Miller
Funeral services for W. Udell Miller will be held
Friday May 13th at 2:00pm at the First Lutheran Church in
Glasgow. Internment will follow at the Highland Cemetery.
W. Udell Miller, age 79, passed away in the early
morning hours on May 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving
family. Udell was born November 29, 1936 in Poplar to
Erwin and Esther (Brown) Miller. He was raised in Fort
Peck and schooled in Fort Peck and Glasgow, graduating
from Glasgow High School in 1955.
He married Karen Marie Wolden on August 24, 1960
and had three children, twins sons Stevin and Kevin and
daughter Danette. Karen passed away in September 1984.
In August of 1991 he married Judy Pointer.

Udell attended school through the eighth grade in Fort
Peck and then to Glasgow High School where he excelled in
athletics playing football and basketball for the Scotties. He
was on the basketball team that finished as state runner-up
in 1953 to Helena during the statewide Big 16 conference.
He was also on the basketball team that returned to the
state tournament a couple years later. Udells best sport was
baseball. He was the winning pitcher in the 1954 Montana
State Legion baseball championship in which he pitched
nearly two full nine-inning games back-to-back in order
to capture the state title for Fort Peck. When not on the
mound he was the team shortstop. He continued to play
softball for many years, which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Udell began work for the Montana Power Company
in April 1957 where he worked as a lineman until his
retirement in 1988. After retirement he did some meter
reading for Montana Power in Glasgow. Retirement allowed
him the freedom to enjoy traveling, spending winters in
Arizona, fishing and hunting and family activities with
kids and grandkids. He spent countless hours with family
at Fort Peck camping, fishing and waterskiing. He spent
time fishing with his wife Judy and for the last many years
he was a very reliable fishing partner with his sons. He
rarely missed an opportunity or declined an invitation to
go fishing and will be greatly missed as a boat passenger
and fishing partner.
He was also an avid hunter of big game and upland
game birds. He continued to enjoy every opportunity in
the fall to be outdoors satisfied with just being able to spend
time in a vehicle motoring through the remote landscape of
Valley County where the deer, elk and sharp tail grouse were
located. To the end he always had the exceptional ability to
use his shotgun to knock a fleeing game bird out of the air.
When he wasnt outdoors, he could always be found
watching all of his grandchildrens school, church and

sporting events. He also

coached his sons youth
baseball teams for many
years.
At his home in
Glasgow, Udell and Judy
took great pride in their
beautifully
landscaped
yard. They spent many
hours during the summer
maintaining an extensive
back yard filled with a
variety of flowers, plants
and decorations. He always had a project of some form
around the yard including feeding the birds and rabbits. To
the very end the man was not idle and would not have it any
other way. The morning and afternoon coffee groups were
an important part of his daily routine.

He also enjoyed many family gatherings and produced
a successful family reunion in Fort Peck for large group of
local and distant relatives in 2012. He was a proud grandpa
at his granddaughters weddings and at the arrival of his
three great grandchildren. He loved those kids and spent
as much time as he had available entertaining and playing
with them. He was an exceptionally proud grandpa of all his
grand and great grandchildren.
Udell was preceded in death by his parents Erwin and
Ester Miller, and his wife Karen Miller.
Udell is survived by his wife Judy, his three children,
Stevin Miller of Fort Peck, Kevin Miller of Glasgow and
Danette Borgen of Glasgow, son in law, Verlin Borgen,
brother Conrad (Sharon) Miller of Lakewood, CO, sister
Doloris (Ken) Tintinger of Helena, MT, brother Roger
(Lorna) Miller of Rochester, MN, grandchildren Whitney
(Jason) Tatafu of Glasgow and their daughters, Finley and
Kila, Blair (Matthew) Tomsheck of Sunburst and their
son Kelden, Darbi (Brandon Hansard) Borgen of Glendive,
brother in law George Fairclough of Glasgow, nieces Janice
Dix of Glasgow and Sandra Gallagher of Renton WA and
nephew Mike Fairclough of Glasgow, step children Gayna
Watson and her sons Chris Wallem and Eric Wallem, Kelly
Fogg of Bozeman and her son Michael Fogg, son in law
Woody Fogg of Bozeman, Tom(Leah) Pointer of Billings
and their children Tyler and his son Brayden, Karli and
Jacey, Sean(Beth) Pointer of Great Falls and their children
Carrie and Colton, and Kathryn (Curtis) Eaton of Huston,
TX, and their daughter Taylor, Cap Czyzeski of Lake
Havasu, AZ, Dorothy (Don) Egosque of Miles City along
with numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

OBITUARY

Mr. Rennick

Glasgow, Montana native Robert (Bob, Bobby) Eugene

Rennick, Jr., the oldest son of Donna (Nelson) and Robert
Rennick, Sr., was born May 10, 1967, and died at his home
May 1, 2016.
Bob embraced life and education. His first diploma
is displayed at the Valley County Pioneer Museum from
the Shirley Buechler Kindergarten of 1973. He continued
attending Glasgow schools, graduating from Glasgow High
School with the class of 1985. Always cheerful and eager to
please, Bob did well academically and excelled in speech,
drama, and music activities. Then it was off to Northern
Montana College, Havre, where he continued his involvement
in both academics and extra-curriculars, receiving his
Bachelors in 1989. He later received his Masters Degree in
Counseling from NMC in 2009.
His professional career began in the fall of 1989 in
Winifred, Montana, where he remained for nine years, loving
the grades 7-12 English, drama, speech, and photography
students and the community. Although finding it difficult
to leave, strong familial responsibility drew him back to
Glasgow and GHS the fall of 1998, teaching first in a variety
of grades 9-12 English classes and later serving as counselor,
his position at the time of his retirement in 2014. He was
also employed professionally by the Fort Peck Community
College (Poplar) teaching English and psychology courses
in the outreach program. The welfare of his students,
academically and emotionally, was the uppermost in his
mind, always hoping through caring concern that their lives
might be better for having encountered him.
Mr. Rennick spent much time on his extra-curricular
activities, first as a participant and then as a speech and drama
coach, cementing many solid relationships throughout
Montana. He kept in regular contact with many of his former
students and colleagues, most of them not realizing how dire
his physical condition had become.

F-150

He received recognition
from a variety of professional
organizations; he was a
practical
(never
meanspirited) joker, and was so
looking forward to voting for
a Democratic president this
fall. His musical tastes were
eclectic. He traveled the NW
attending concerts. He loved moves and plays; he was a loyal
Scotty! He laughed and he cried, both with ease.
Having been first diagnosed with diabetes as a high
school sophomore, the disease plagued him the rest of his
life. He began dialysis treatment in Poplar in June of 2011,
a three-times-weekly trek of 150 miles round-trip. Only the
very first time did someone travel with him. He eventually
succumbed to the disease. Disease and suffering were not a
stranger to Bob, having nursed both of his parents prior to
their deaths. He had actually begun heath care as an aide at
Valley View Nursing Home as a teenager.
Among Bobs jobs outside of school were Quick-NTasty, College RA, house sitting, Glacier National Park, cafes
in Shelby and Winifred, Valley Cinemas, and more.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his
grandparents; brother, Tim, who then resided with him and
a host of extended family and friends.
Bob is survived by his brother Joe of Glasgow; paternal
aunt, Harriet (Roy) Keough of Havre; maternal aunt, Marie
Hobby of Marietta, Georgia; numerous cousins and their
families and a number of very close friendships (Bill, Teresa,
Jared, Brandt, Eva, Bruce, Mrs. R., et.al.), and Rusty and
Maddie, his beloved canine companions, miss him. We all do.

Services for Bob will be held Saturday, May 14th, 2016 at
1:00 PM at the Evangelical Church in Glasgow. Refreshments
will be served following the service. Inurnment will take
place at Hillview Cemetery in Hinsdale, Montana.
