Student Name: Vivian Shen
Activity Name: Art Social Media Account
CAS element(s) involved:
C

Group

Description of Proposed Activity:

This project is a partnership with Elizabeth Chen where we use social media as our
platform to aim for weekly posts and updates regarding our art making process. To begin
with we will be operating on Instagram, Deviantart and PaigeeWorld.
Proposed Activity Supervisor:
Mrs Hogan.
What challenges and/or new skills will this activity provide?
I will be able to enhance my current art making skills which consists of drawing,
sketching, oil and acrylic painting. While retaining the consist art quality, I want to be
able to create artworks at a faster pace, suggesting that my colour scheme judgement
has to be more precise and refined.
This project will also broaden my opportunities to learn new skills such as water colour
painting, digital art making and drawing with copic markers and pens, and subsequently,
the use of photoshop, illustrator, Adobe Creative Cloud, tablets and cintiqs.
By the end of the project, I want to be able to develop a distinctive personal style that is
consistent and prevalent throughout my works.
What do you want to achieve from your participation in this activity?
Our first priority is to hone our current art skills and to move towards unfamiliar mediums
and achieve decent works with these. Individually, I would like to participate in
community collaborations with other online artists. These collaborations may range from
art projects such as creating our own digital comic series to a creator of one part of a
MEP or CG video. Ultimately, our goal is to create a name for ourselves and establish
an art friendly community on an existing website.
What evidence could be appropriate for this activity?
Posts from websites as evidence of our weekly posts, photographs or videos of us in the
process of art marking as well as a signature from the supervisor.
Which learning outcomes may be appropriate to reflect on for this activity? (NB You do not
have to meet every outcome for each activity. All seven must be achieved over the duration of the CAS
Program and before you are signed off)
