Unit 13 Test

Dear Parents,

The STARR test if fast approaching, only one week from this upcoming
Monday. On Wednesday your child took a Unit test on multistep word
problems. We have been practicing these type of questions all throughout the
year. I even put key words on the board for them to refer to with the matching
operation next to them. Some did well, while others did not. PLEASE take
time to rework these problems at home with your child. It would be VERY
BENEFICIAL to them in preparing for the test on May 9th.
I require them to underline important information, pull it out to the side
and label it, as well as, show all their work. Some students do this very well,
and are being more successful when solving the problems given. While
others, try to rush through their work. PLEASE, help me to stress to your
children, the importance of taking their time and doing their absolute best! I
tell them learning is not a race, it is gathering information to store in little
files in your brain, to pull out when it is needed. Slow down and use it to your
best ability and apply the knowledge which is stored. If all else fails When
in doubt, Draw it out!!
