This week I have been focussing on mainly Tambourin and Elegie

I was finding it hard in Tambourin to keep at the same very fast speed and was
tripping over my fingers. My teacher suggested that I tried to keep my fingers
close to the strings and press more lightly. To help me with this I had to make
sure that my elbow was moving more freely as I tend to have too much tension
in my shoulder and this stops me from moving my fingers fast enough.
I have been finding the spiccato scales difficult and my teacher suggested this
is because Im not lifting my bowing elbow high enough to get the bounce. I
am practicing this in front of the mirror and instead going straight in for
spiccato I played the scale very fast so that the bow naturally lifted off the
string.
In Elegie I have been focussing on making the dotted rhythms more defined
and have less of a triplet feel. I also have been making sure that I dont cut the
minims in the double stop section short.
Each practice section I:
-Played every scale through playing spiccato
-Played in front of a mirror to focus on posture
-Played Tambourin through focussing on left hand and elbow
-Played Elegie thinking about dotted rhythms
