Abstract

In this globalization era, people have realize how important healthy lifestyle. They
have chooses sport as a hobby, one of the sport is cycling. Every cyclist needs
water to maintain the hydration in the body. In fact, cold water will work better than
water in normal temperature. This mini refrigerator will help the water or food to be
in low temperature. The mini refrigerator is powered by dynamo and converted the
energy into heat by peltier plate. The peltier plate will produce cool air and blow by
the fan. This system will reduce the temperature inside the box. So, the cyclist can
enjoy the cold water from the mini refrigerator. Cyclists in Malaysia have problem in
getting the cold water to revive themselves. They always need water to keep their
body hydrated. In order for cyclist to get the cold water while doing their activity
they need a portable mini refrigerator. The main objective of this study is to cool the
drinking. Cold water has been proven is better than normal temperature water. The
objective of the study is to study about dynamo generator on bicycle to produce
energy towards peltier plate. Then, to fabricate the mini refrigerator using dynamo
generator, peltier plate and blow fan and to determine ideal temperature inside mini
refrigerator to cool drinking water. Focus on this project is on peltier effect and
dynamo generator that is place at the bicycle by using Fixie bicycle with two
dynamo generator and one peltier plate. The dynamo generator is expected
produce 12V which is enough to generate power for the peltier to work. The volume
of the box for mini refrigerator is only 15cm x 23cm x 15cm. Meanwhile, another
one dynamo generator will be added at the rear tire to generate power for the
blower fan. The expectation in this project is to compare the temperature of the
drinking water between inside the mini refrigerator and without mini refrigerator.
With this mini refrigerator it will help to reduce the temperature of drinking water.
The prediction of the drinking water is reduced by about 5 C to 8 C and temperature
inside the mini refrigerator will be maintained low for about 3 hours.
