INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Select 3 professions in the field of science.
2. Research your selections and create a promotional item
or presentation (ONLY 1) containing the following info:
a) Title of occupation.
b) Description of profession, including typical responsibilities and skills.
c) Type of education and/or training required (include length of
education/training and examples of where education/training can be
obtained). List any licenses, certificates, credentials, etc., required. Is
continuing education required?
d) Personal qualities that are important for success in this occupation.
e) Employment Outlook how easy/difficult will it be to find a job in this
profession?
f) Approximate pay scale for this profession. Make a chart or graph including:
beginning pay; pay after 5-10 years experience; pay after 10-20 years

g) Describe why you are interested in this career and how this profession

a) Presentation/ Promotional Item Layout
a. Present information in a neat, interesting, attractive, readable,
creative, professional, and colorful manner. Your target audience
includes high school and college students.
b. Video, Poster Board, brochure, PowerPoint, Prezi, Scrapbook, Booklet,
Research Paper are your choices for presentation.
b) Use photographs, pictures, computer graphics, etc., to enhance your
product, but be sure they are appropriate to your topic.
c) Use reputable sources and be sure that all information is current (within
last 2-3 years). Be sure to cite your information using APA format.

4. Typed Paper
a. Select one of the three professions and type a paper that
includes all of the information required.
b. It should be at least 1 page (TYPED)

Be prepared to share your presentation with the class and answer any questions
your classmates or your teacher may have about your profession. (5 mins)

Pharmacists, also known as chemists, are healthcare professionals who practice in pharmacy,
the field of health sciences focusing on safe and effective medication use.
Prosthetics, are people who measures, design, fabricate, fit, or service a prosthesis as
prescribed by a licensed physician, and who assists in the formulation of the prosthesis
prescription for the replacement of external parts of the human body lost due to amputation or
congenital deformities or absences.
Speech-language pathologists work with people who are dyslexic, hard of hearing, have
incurred brain injuries and more.
Surgeons are medical doctors who perform operations as their primary method of treatment.
Within this field, one can specialize even further in areas like orthopedic, neurological,
cardiovascular or plastic surgery, among other areas.
Veterinarians play a major role in the healthcare of pets, livestock, and zoo, sporting, and
laboratory animals.
