    ondisplayintheentrancetoguidance.Theresultwillbeacollageprojectwiththesetiles
    representingourschool.

    Mrs.StanberryandMs.Faulknercombinedeffortstoblendliteracywithartbystudyingthe
    EmperorQinandhisTerracottasoldiers.Studentslearnedaboutthestoryandtimeframeand
    thendesignedtheirownsoldiersoutofclay.Theywillalsobeaddingawrittencomponentto
    theassignment.

    Ms.HudsonsclassmadeOOBLECKastheybeganthechemistryunitandlearningabout
    colloids.OobleckisanonNewtonianfluid;ithaspropertiesofbothliquidsandsolids.Youcan
    slowlydipyourhandintoitlikealiquid,butifyousqueezetheoobleckorpunchit,itwillfeel
    solid.ThenameoobleckcomesfromtheDr.Seussbook,BartholomewandtheOobleck."

    SafeSpacevolunteerswillbevisiting6thgradehealthclassestalkingaboutsafeand
    appropriatephysicalandverbalboundaries,rightsofothers,andrespect.Thetrainingwas
    designedbytheCenterforDiseaseControlandwillcontinueeachyearteachingaboutsafe
    environmentsandbehaviors.

    RandomActsofKindness
    FMScelebrated
    RandomActsofKindness
    inFebruary.Studentsandteacherswerechallenged
    toperformactsofkindnessthatwereunsolicitedandunexpected.Whenarandomactof
    kindnesswasdemonstrated,therecipientoranobserversubmittedthecomplimentstothe
    office,whichwerethensharedduringannouncements.Theresultswerebeyondexcitingas
    peoplewerekindtooneanotherfornoreasonatall.Whatagreatwaytodemonstrate
    kindnessandhumanity!ThisactivitywassuchahitthatFMSwillbecontinuingtocelebrate
    RandomActsofKindness
    fortherestoftheschoolyear.

    Ateamof12studentswillbegoingtoQuizBowlonApril19,2016.Theteamhasbeenstudying
    hardandlookingupinformationonPresidents,theUSConstitution,headsofstate,andmany
