The Sun supplies us with nearly unlimited energy, says mayor Jennifer Roberts. A government is the role model of its society and you are our ambassador, she says. Public transportation is already viewed as a sustainable service. Public schools are another effective means to implement solar energy use.

I am writing on behalf of myself and my colleagues to request the integration of solar energy use in public service buildings. The Sun supplies us with nearly unlimited energy and the same energy that fuels all life on Earth. We are asking you to begin the integration at the government level, because a government is the role model of its society. The government of Charlotte is a reflection of the thoughts and personality of its citizens and you are our ambassador. A tactical demonstration of progression towards a more sustainable Charlotte would be to use solar energy in government office buildings, public transportation, and public schools. Public transportation is already viewed as a sustainable service. It may be the strongest example of sustainability within our community. Solar powered stations are a common sense supplement to an already sustainable service. Public schools are another effective means to implement solar energy use. Overall, it would reduce schools expenses and teach students about sustainability. Children are our future, so to make a change as such, we need to start with them. Your constituents want a more sustainable Charlotte and to break our dependency on nonrenewable energy. We are restricted by personal income and regulations deciding who we can
buy energy from. The city, as an entity, has more power to make those changes. Hear your people. Sincerely,
