GENERAL REFLECTION
Overall, how successful was this lesson?
Overall, I believe the lesson was a success. My students enjoyed learning about the womens suffrage
movement and I received good results from the letters they wrote as an assessment.
GOALS/OBJECTIVES
In what ways were your goals/objectives appropriate for your students?
The goal of the lesson was for students to understand Jane McCallums role in the womens suffrage
movement and to use their writing skills in a social studies setting.
In what ways were they not appropriate?
I over planned this lesson and was unable to see that day what the results of my daily assessment.
ASSESSMENT
How effective were your assessment strategies in measuring student achievement of the learning goals/
objectives for this lesson?
Giving the students opportunities to write letters as their assessment allowed me to see how well they
understood the material and if they were just regurgitating information or if they had actually learned.
Would you make any changes to the assessments strategies you used? What changes would you make and
why?
In the future I would make the letter longer and more rigorous after a few more lessons so the students
could take their work to the next level.
ALTERATIONS
Did you depart in any way from your plan? If so, how? Why?
My lesson took longer than I thought, so my assessment was only halfway done.
